We are underway at Anfield, where Brighton commence the action.
Hello and welcome to our LIVE coverage of the Premier League clash between Liverpool and Brighton, where both sides are looking to build upon their impressive starts to the season.
Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool eased past West Ham on the opening weekend and then edged Crystal Palace on Monday evening. The Reds will expect another win at Anfield today, which would take them top of the Premier League at this very early stage of the campaign.
Brighton stuttered to an opening weekend at Watford but Chris Hughton's side responded superbly last weekend, securing a famous 3-2 win over Manchester United. Another stern test awaits this afternoon though and the Seagulls will have to be at their best.
Liverpool XI (4-3-3): Alisson; Trent Alexander-Arnold, Joe Gomez, Virgil van Dijk, Andrew Robertson; James Milner, Georginio Wijnaldum, Naby Keita; Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane.
Brighton XI (4-4-1-1): Mat Ryan; Martin Montoya, Leon Balogun, Shane Duffy, Gaetan Bong; Anthony Knockaert, Dale Stephens, Davy Propper, Solly March; Yves Bissouma; Glenn Murray.
Liverpool subs: Simon Mignolet, Joel Matip, Jordan Henderson, Xherdan Shaqiri, Daniel Sturridge, Adam Lallana, Alberto Moreno.
Brighton subs: David Button, Alireza Jahanbakhsh, Markus Suttner, Bernardo, Pascall Gross, Beram Kayal, Jurgen Locadia.
Klopp names the same starting line-up for the third game in a row, with Matip and van Dijk continuing their defensive partnership in the absence of Dejan Lovren. Fabinho does not make the squad, with Henderson and Shaqiri both on the bench.
Brighton make two changes from the 3-2 win over United last week, with Hughton bringing in Balogun and Bissouma. Gross drops to the bench, with Lewis Dunk absent due to the injury sustained in the dramatic win last time out.
The teams are in the tunnel and the final Premier League match of the day is just minutes away.
Liverpool's lead may just be one goal but the Reds have looked in control since kick-off. Brighton have largely done well to keep Klopp's side contained, though Hughton will be furious at the manner of the goal the Seagulls conceded after sloppily giving away possession.
The hosts will look to continue in the same manner for the second period and will fancy their chances of extending their lead. Brighton need to take advantage of any set-pieces they earn if they are to claw their way back into the match but can be pleased with their defensive performance so far.
Thanks for joining our coverage today. Until next time, goodbye.
Liverpool will be full of confidence heading into next week's trip to Leicester and know that they have established themselves as the early pacesetters. After two tough tests, Brighton tackle Fulham before the international break in a match where Hughton will be determined to pick up further points.
Not the best performance for Liverpool but they did what they needed, as Salah's first-half goal seals a third win a row and sends the Reds top of the table at this very early stage of the season. Brighton can hold their heads high after a battling performance where they improved significantly in the second half.
