We're underway at Carrow Road.
Good evening and welcome to the live commentary of the Premier League clash between Norwich City and Watford at Carrow Road.
It's early in the season to say the contest is a six-pointer, but it's one both sides certainly have to win to break them out of their respective slumps. Since their triumph over Manchester City in September, the Canaries are winless in six matches, losing five of those games. Daniel Farke's men were beaten last time out by Brighton and Hove Albion on the road, leaving them four points adrift of safety in 19th place. It's a very important game for the home side tonight.
Watford have endured a worse start than their opponents to the season, failing to win any of their opening 11 matches of the season. The Hornets have taken five points, drawing five contests, but the victory has eluded Quique Sanchez Flores' men. They suffered a 2-1 defeat last time out at the hands of Chelsea, despite earning a contentious penalty late on. There has been a slight improvement since the arrival of Flores in September, but the Hornets need to start winning games.
NORWICH (4-2-3-1): Tim Krul; Max Aarons, Alexander Tettey, Ben Godfrey, Jamal Lewis; Tom Trybull, Kenny McLean; Emiliano Buendia, Marco Stiepermann, Onel Hernandez; Teemu Pukki.
NORWICH CITY SUBS: Sam Byram, Mario Vrancic, Todd Cantwell, Josip Drmic, Ralf Fahrmann, Ibrahim Amadou, Dennis Srbeny.
WATFORD (5-3-2): Ben Foster; Daryl Janmaat, Christian Kabasele, Craig Dawson, Craig Cathcart, Jose Holebas; Will Hughes, Etienne Capoue, Abdoulaye Doucoure; Gerard Deulofeu, Roberto Pereyra.
WATFORD SUBS: Heurelho Gomes, Adrian Mariappa, Troy Deeney, Adam Masina, Nathaniel Chalobah, Andre Gray, Kiko Femenia.
Daniel Farke will be desperate for his side to find their clinical edge in the final third. They've been impressive on the ball, especially with Hernandez down the left flank. However, when they opportunities have presented themselves the home side have snatched at them. it's a hallmark of a team that is struggling for form, but all they could need is one break in the second half to get them back into rhythm.
Thanks for joining our commentary this evening. Until next time, goodbye.
Norwich are next in Premier League action after the international break against Everton on the road on November 23, while Watford host Burnley on the same day.
