88'
R. Glatzel has scored a goal for Hamburg! Assist by M. Muheim.
GOAL! HAMBURG 1-3 FREIBURG! Hamburg finally get a goal for all their positional dominance, but it's come far too late to affect the outcome. Glatzel guides a header into the top left corner from Muheim's left-wing cross.
Muheim's delivery for Glatzel there was lovely, and Glatzel's finish gave Flekken no chance. Hamburg will be pleased to have a consolation goal at least.
87'
Kittel's pop at goal from distance isn't close to testing Flekken. Muheim catches Haberer with a late tackle and escapes a yellow card.
85'

Suhonen's game is over. He's been Hamburg's best player. It's not his fault they lost this game in the first half. Chakvetadze replaces him.
83'
Alidou has taken up Jatta's shift on Hamburg's right wing. His first attempt to worry Freiburg works as well as most of his predecessor's, as his cross is blocked. Freiburg easily clear the resulting corner.

35'
Penalty goal scored by V. Grifo for Freiburg!
GOAL! HAMBURG 0-3 FREIBURG! This semi-final feels over as a contest already. Grifo steps up and dispatches the penalty kick confidently past Heuer Fernandes. It's hard to see a way back for Hamburg now.
31'
Schlotterbeck and Grifo combine to cut out Hamburg's latest attack. Freiburg end up winning a minor free-kick. Hamburg's boss Walter looks restless in the dugout.
25'

Freiburg are starting to get a grip of things. They earn another corner down their left...
GOAL! HAMBURG 0-1 FREIBURG! The Bundesliga side have the lead through Petersen! The corner comes in and is kept alive by Lienhart. Heuer Fernandes flaps at the follow-up cross and the Freiburg striker nods it into the net before Hamburg's goalkeeper can recover! After a quick VAR check to make sure no one's offside, the goal stands!
9'
Jatta's cross from the right is wayward. Hamburg may be a division below their visitors, but they're not playing like it so far.
7'

The hosts Hamburg get this match underway!
Hello! Welcome to our live text commentary of this DFB-Pokal semi-final match between Hamburg and Freiburg at Volksparkstadion.
Second-division Hamburg have a rare opportunity to make it to their first DFB-Pokal final since 1987, a match they went on to win 3-1 against Stuttgarter Kickers to lift the club's last major trophy. With promotion to the Bundesliga looking unlikely at the time of writing, making it to the last match of Germany's biggest domestic cup is an opportunity Tim Walter's men won't want to pass up.
For Freiburg, this game might be even bigger. Christian Streich's team may be having a great season, sitting fifth in the Bundesliga and pushing for Champions League qualification, but they've never made it to a DFB-Pokal final. They may be historically smaller than Hamburg, but they're the nominal favourites in this match. Their cup final drought may be about to end.
HAMBURG (4-4-2): Daniel Heuer Fernandes; Moritz Heyer, Mario Vuskovic, Sebastian Schonlau (c), Josha Vagnoman; Bakery Jatta, Jonas Meffert, Anssi Suhonen, Ludovit Reis; Robert Glatzel, Sonny Kittel.
SUBS: Miro Muheim, David Kinsombi, Mikkel Kaufmann, Giorgi Chakvetadze, Faride Alidou, Tom Mickel, Jan Gyamerah, Jonas David, Manuel Wintzheimer.
FREIBURG (4-2-3-1): Mark Flekken; Jonathan Schmid, Philipp Lienhart, Nico Schlotterbeck, Christian Gunter (c); Maximilian Eggestein, Nicolas Hofler; Roland Sallai, Jeong Woo-Yeong, Vincenzo Grifo; Nils Petersen.
SUBS: Robert Wagner, Hugo Siquet, Ermedin Demirovic, Noah Weisshaupt, Benjamin Uphoff, Kiliann Sildialli, Janik Haberer, Keven Schlotterbeck, Lucas Holer.
The two teams walk onto the pitch: Hamburg in their white shirts and red shorts, Freiburg in their black away kit. The fans of both sides at Volksparkstadion are putting on a great display. It's a proper cup semi-final atmosphere!
It's Freiburg who will play Leipzig or Union Berlin in the DFB-Pokal final at Olympiastadion next month, then. They'll have to wait to find out who exactly they'll face, but they'll believe they can lift this famous cup for the first time. That's all for now. Goodbye!
